OUR STORY
NOW OPEN - soft launch (grand opening coming in July):
We started the North Shore Banh Mi & Beyond food truck with a simple mission: to bring the authentic, vibrant flavors of Vietnam to the North Shore. Our journey began with a passion for fresh, healthy ingredients and a dedication to preserving the soul of traditional recipes. Today, we serve more than just food; we share a piece of our heritage with every bite, ensuring that every sandwich and rice dish is crafted with care and served with a tropical twist.
The story of North Shore Banh Mi & Beyond began more than 20 years ago when our families met and became friends in Cambodia.
Over the years, life took us across Southeast Asia, Utah, and eventually to Laie. While Phannah and his family spent several years studying in Laie, Hanh built a career in the restaurant industry, owning and operating restaurants in Vietnam, Cambodia, and the US Mainland.
For more than 15 years, Hanh owned Vietnamese sandwich shops and boba stores throughout Utah, sharing authentic flavors and creating places where people could gather, connect, and enjoy great food. In 2025, after selling her businesses, she chose to make Laie home and bring her passion for Vietnamese cuisine to Oʻahu's North Shore.
Today, North Shore Banh Mi & Beyond is the fulfillment of a long journey, bringing together decades of friendship, family, and experience. Our goal is simple: serve exceptional food, create memorable experiences, and share a little aloha with every guest who visits.
We look forward to welcoming you.
